They have the 34th rushing offense in the country.

Baylor is 5th

Approx 0.7 more ypc

13th overall scoring defense

Tied for 13th with a few others and the literal next team is...Baylor. A 0.27 ppg difference

Again, your concerns over Aranda should be bigger concerns for Napier

You haven’t watched them play at all, have you

It’s much more like what the Briles run. Like a shotgun veer option. It would be a foundation of an offense that a QB like Walker Howard would feast in

That’s great, accept jeff Grimes won’t be coordinating his offense the rest of his career

But the issue is who is Napier going to hire to run his team's offense? He literally has the same issues that Aranda does in terms of his team's offense. Is Napier going to fire himself or is he going to just be meh on offense? If he fires himself, how is he not completely reliant on his OC hires like Aranda?

The Napier have bent me into submission. If he fails, we hang everybody on the soccer board as a referendum on stupidity.

If you really think they are on the same level I can’t have a conversation about this

Aranda had one of the worst rushing teams & offenses in D-1 last year. The improvement is solely dependent on someone else.

Napier has top 25 rushing offenses every year, and clearly has an identify & a system that is good

So we are arguing against a Dave hire? My belief is that his value was always in organization and program control. He is going to be dependent on who he hires on offense.

It was more of an expression of an “offensive guy” depending on his defense slowing the clock and having an overall mediocre offense to win games.
I watched the Arkansas state game some of the liberty game, the Troy game, the Georgia southern game. Admittedly I did not get to see the app state game which was probably their best game this year. Will try to catch the ulm game.

After the last 20 years I’m very averse to not hiring a “guru” on one side of the ball and o don’t think Napier’s offenses could be categorized that way.

I’ll put it this way though. If we are down to mark stoops, jimbo, Franklin and Napier then id probably take a chance on Napier.

Not against a Dave hire. People just nitpick everyone else, and never him. Like one of his first two seasons weren’t terrible

I'm appreciate that you are pro Napier. It helps balance out the never-Napiers on here who, contrary to their claims, are much more intolerant than the pro group. Unfortunately, Napier seems to be heading toward O levels of polarization on here.

And while I don't agree that your criticism of Aranda is something of significant concern, it's a great discussion to have.
