It doesn't matter who the coach is, half the fan base is gonna love him the other half will hate him, and nothing he does will be enough.

O could get the job and win the next 10 championships and those that don't want him hired will find something to bitch about.

Herman/Fisher could get the job and lose the next 20 games, and those that want them will defend them no matter what. They'll probably blame Miles.

The only way LSU fans will be happy is if the new coach wins every games next season in blowout fashion, putting up 500 yards though the air (with the backup quarterback), 400 on the ground, and the defense giving up negative 100 yards of offense. Then after winning the the NC they fire whomever the coach is.

They'll complain about the graduation rate if needed

I think you're wrong.

We are all at the point where we want championships. We aren't talent depleated. We aren't years away.

Win and everything is good.

Do not agree. If O gets the job and wins championships everybody will be happy but the problem is him winning championships is highly unlikely. Anybody with any football knowledge knows that O isn't a championship caliber coach. He's a great motivator and recruiter but is anything but a tatctian and has failed miserably running a program.

People who would be unhappy with Jimbo or Herman are idiots. Jimbo would immediately give us the second best coach in the SEC. His strengths are LSU's weakness-QB and imagination on offense; and Herman is widely regarded as the best up and coming prospect out there, with possibly a higher ceiling than Jimbo, and a better resume than almost any top coach at this point in his career.
