I didn’t hear a name and I don’t know anything about his wife. I only heard this person owned a bunch of parking lots, lived in CA and was LSU grad but maybe it’s her.

I have been saying this since it was announced. Occam's razor.....the simplest explanation for any phenomenon is usually the correct one.

I find it funny that this is not mentioned more. Before I heard anything, I saw on the News where he talks about coming onto the campus and learning more about what needs to be fixed. I’d think if you were applying for president of a University that you would have already done your research.

I believe Verge had to try to shut down the Saban talk yesterday. And it worked pretty well because a lot of folks here fell for it.

This information refers to Thoma Bravo...Holden Spaht's company...he is worth 5 billion and a huge LSU fan, although he didn't go there. His Dad is a big wig in a local BR law firm..I find it funny how these bits of information change as they get passed on from person to person.

Why would Verge give any clues of what’s truly going on to create more smoke? I think his statements are to get rid of the smoke. I doubt he talks to him every two weeks. He’s making it appear that if he’s talking to Saban it’s no big deal. If it comes to fruition, they’ll just spin it whatever way they want. I do think Shaq created noise for a reason. I believe what Mascona says “Consider everything, believe nothing” Again, I’m only reporting what I heard. It doesn’t mean it’s fact. Deals do fall through so it doesn’t mean sources are wrong. Time will tell what truly happens.

This is called "hedging" for those that do not know. It's a way to NEVER be wrong. What would keep Saban from accepting the job right now, if he's the guy?

I’ve heard of Spaght on here but I don’t keep up with the donors and only heard it was a woman, parking lots, CA, LSU grad. But like you said, who knows who really wrote the check or is writing the check. I didn’t realize there was a connection of the company you mentioned to Spaght.

I’m not hedging. I’m only telling you what I know right now. Go read my post and you’ll see what is in the way. I heard it was a done deal but I also heard yesterday that it’s not truly done. Who knows what it going to happen. Everyone blast people on here when someone reports something and it turns out differently. This is why I don’t post much on here. For all I know, it could be someone out of left field and a bunch of smoke screens are being done to inside people. I think Dalton and all this firing is the key and Verge being appointed to AD immediately. I’m not hearing anyone else being mentioned at this time. Believe what you want.

Yes, one way or another. Do I think it could fall through? Possibly. I don’t think he would have reported to Woodward, which might be another reason why he’s gone. It could be a few weeks before hearing anything definitive or it could truly fall apart. I heard before yesterday that it was a done deal but as of last night I heard it’s not completely done. I have not heard that it’s off the table. That’s all I know. Don’t shoot the messenger.

I, for one, firmly believe any talk about Saban coming to LSU is simply a way to pass the time at this point.
