Sleight of hand. C'mon, Jeremy, we see through this crap...

"only person we met with" being the key phrase there.

undeniably they contacted other coaches and their agents, does not necessarily mean they "met" with them in person.

I really think that's true.

Doesn't say it was the only person they contacted. I'm sure they contacted other guys, who told them no, and thus, there was no reason to meet.

its disingenuous to act as if he was the #1 overall choice. maybe he didnt say that, but hes trying to imply it

No, man, i read on teh SEC rant that Urban and Foley had a sitdown with Jon Gruden to see if he met Urb's standards as his successor.

I think they undoubtedly could have had Mullen if they wanted him.

It is very interesting that they made a decision to break completely away from Meyer's coaching tree and instead hired a Saban disciple.

I know he wants to make it seem like a seamless hire but this statement really makes it seem more careless than anything else. this is a risky hire. this type of hire required due diligence not just blindly targeting the hottest coordinator with no head coaching experience.

this statement wouldve fit Dan Mullen or Petrino. not muschamp.
