Why leave for a lateral position?

ask any asst. coach who has ever served under Saban what it's like and you'll know why there's such high turnover.

Understood. Maybe if NS would learn to show the love like LM he could keep a few cuz God knows they can hang on like a bad smell around here.

I hear Crowton is on the short list.

But FL had some really harsh contract terms, it appears a program has to send Crowton AND 5 million dollars, and a case of Jiffy Pop.

Also Crowton has to agree to NEVER enter any area where the team actually is....EVER.

And keep Muschamps ride shined.

Other than that, he is useless.........maybe it was the short bus, not the short list.

Why would Smart, whose built a good D in Bama, leave for Florida, where he will have no control of that defense?

Looks like Smart and Muschamp have had similar career paths.

Both attended high school in Georgia.

Both played DB at Georgia - a year apart under Ray Goff.

Both coached at Voldosta State - during the same year. In fact, Smart took over the DC job there after Muschamp left.

Both coached under Saban in 2004.

Both coached for the Miami Dolphins - a year apart

No telling what else they've shared.

The frick are you talking about?

He'd have more control over the defense under Muschamp than he does now under Saban.
