Simple answer. It's Miles and not Saban or Meyer. Miles does the same thing as them but is viewed as an idiot. Saban does this and he is a calculating genius.
I get that, but that seems to focus more on the general public's opinion. It sounds like he's not being given the authority to make the offer by the AD. Or am I misinterpreting that?

I figured that was who you were referring to.

Regardless, his information and posts are too accurate to just be bs. He knows someone (which is TL apparently).

We can only assume. You nor will the press EVER know the answer to that question. That is behind closed doors type of talks.

MY assumption is that this hire is entirely up to Miles. He has complete control/authority and I bet Wilson is helping out.

That's the way it's looking. I'm starting to wonder if Miles is actually serious about the search or if this is the "wham bam thank ya maam" easy way out that he wants.

And he's not going to hire Coach O to be the DLine coach.

Why?

Is he saying coach O will never be hired by LSU?

Ending up with Brick with no O on staff is the worst possible outcome of this search, and that's the path that we are on.

Agree with this

Opinion.

I hope I am dead wrong on that and that Miles makes a terrific hire at DC.

miles is trying to make the best possible hire. he knows that the defense has carried us the last few years. he won't hire haley w/o a to notch assistant/recruiter to go along with it.

miles sees the bigger picture. maybe he believes that harris will come around and with the talent on offense the defense won't have to carry the burden in the future. maybe he believes that haley plus more talent (top notch recruiter) is better than chavis.

There are plenty of posters here to beat up his ego some so it all balances out.

In your scenario you must be thinking about Orgeron and that he joins the staff.

huge fan of O

Believe he is the right guy for the LSU program at this time.

I won't discount what Brick did at LSU under Chavis as far as helping with the duties of the coordinator position.

So what is your take on all the reports that seem to surface, after a DC interview, they remove their name from the list of potential candidates?

....seems to be happening a lot, so I'm assuming these things are linked together
