Miles may have circumvented being in the final two or three in Dec-2007, but despite what was reported by Herbie..

I highly doubt Miles rejected Mich at all. I think he had preliminary talks with Martin or whomever the guy sailing a boat down in Fla. There was still a faction of Michigan men not sold on LM.

Who knows for sure?

It won't be popular, but it's the correct hire

If they want a "Michigan Man" that runs a prostyle system, then yes. He took Ball St to 12-1 and has turned San Diego St around and in a good position to contend for a BCS bowl next year. He also has recruiting ties both in the Midwest and California, which is key for Michigan.

It's not a flashy hire, but he's the best coach for the position

Yeah, I'm sure us guys posting on sports forums know much more bout what went on than ESPN guys who make their living covering sports 24-7.

I think Carr's "faction" leaked that to sabotage the possiblity of Les going to UM.

I think it's obvious Miles was gone until Herb opened his mouth. Look at that ridiculous contract Miles landed after everything.
