Find it hard to believe a DL coach with the reputation of Davis would come to LSU to work under Matt House. Yes money and other things like coming home are nice, but working for an incompetent DC can be career damaging.

I don't think you understand how other coaches feel about Matt House. Better not to project your fan perspective on to the guys who have been coaching at this level for years.

We get it, you hate Matt House.

Why Would Bo Davis come here? What is the appeal outside of “coming home”? Seems like a little wishful thinking. Part of me thinks that BK is sitting on his hands too much.

going home is a huge factor. also, brian kelly and the current staff dont do things in the public eye like the prior staff. i can assure you he isnt sitting on his hands. That isnt his MO. just bc u arent privy to whats happening doesnt mean nothing is going on.

yea i can see how it feels that way. les typically oversaw some really potent offenses manned by a heisman trophy qb.

are you the type that enjoys the boss listing out your mistakes at a company wide meeting? jackass.

he may make a homerun hire. he may hire a dud. IE worrying is like a rocking chair; it gives you something to do but it does not get you anywhere.

No, I am not, but I am the type that knows when you deliver subpar results you deserve subpar treatment. House is one of the highest paid assistants in the country. He delivered one of the worst LSU defenses in recent memory, and probably pissed away an SEC championship at a minimum. No one has been fired. Does that sit okay with you? If you’re the boss and your regional sales director produced the worst sales result in the past 30 years of the company while the marketing department had the highest engagement in 30 years, is someone not going to pay? I’m fine with BK moving behind the scenes to make hires, but the combination of house, cooks, and steeples still being employed is a joke and plays exactly into the overly conservative nature that many have attributed to BK for years, jackass.

Les oversaw some of the best defenses we have seen here. But never could figure out the offense, hopefully Kelly doesn’t have the same problem with the defense. I’m not against House, but Kelly’s defensive position coaches leave a lot to be desired. Cain was the one proven position coach and left after a year. We have an asst special teams coach in charge of the weakest cb room in the conference with little help on the way so far.

How do you know the perception among college coaches about Matt House?

Message boards don’t normally align with reality. Sure, the defense sucked this year, but House won’t be unemployed for 1 second.

Sometimes shite just doesn’t work out in coaching, and all coaches know that.

You should probably stop with your nonsense and complete dumbassery. You’re looking more and more like the idiot you are while trying to be witty.

I can admit the Les comment was a troll. We just fielded the worst defense at LSU in the past 20 years. I can understand there were a lot of factors (Brooks illness, Lindsey illness, Johnson Injury, Chesnut & Harris discipline issues, etc), but the fact still remains that we took a significant step back from the year before. Again, I know personnel is part of that reason, but we pay House a tremendous amount of money, and we have more “talent” than many other SEC schools who’s defenses were far better than ours. I just can’t understand how there hasn’t been staff changes. Sure, they could happen behind the scenes, but Cooks is still out recruiting, so I assume he will be staying with the staff in some capacity. To me, after this season I don’t see how House, Steeples, Cooks are all three still employed. The results this year were too lackluster. I personally don’t see a way Bo Davis comes here unless he is made DC or Co-DC. That’s just my two cents. I’m also not a dumbass, I just like getting a rise out of people on message boards. Too fun.

Why is this so hard to understand? You do realize that it is very common for staff changes to take place after the bowl game, and even after the final signing period, correct?

Do you follow college football?

Matt House was originally hired on Dec. 29.

While you, as a fan and message board warrior, would like your opinions validated in real time, LSU does not have to follow your timeline.

You may think there is something to gain by expediting this process, but Kelly obviously disagrees. And considering LSU's program is currently very stable, with relatively few portal entrants (and no key players), few bowl opt outs, few decommitments, etc. I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

It's obvious he has a plan and is letting it play out. Treating coaches with respect, even if you plan to fire them, is very important in the industry and allows you to make solid hires of great coaches in the future.
