Oh I definitely think Gruden would be a good coach (hell, he'd be at the very top of my list to replace Miles if Miles left)...
That said...the NFL and college don't translate...they are two completely different games and require two different kind of people. There are obvious exceptions to this, but NFL vs college is comparing apples to oranges, two completely different games.
I don't think Gruden would be as good managing a program and putting up with the day-to-day bullshite that college coaches have to put up with in order to be successful. College coaches not only have to be good coaches and recruiters, they have to be a good pseudo-Dad as well to 100+ kids.
I'm just taking a wild guess, but Miles obviously has the college game down (as many coaches do)...it's just so hard to gauge how a guy like Gruden would do in college. He may be smart, well-spoken, likeable, a winner, etc, but that does not necessarily translate to winning in college. My point being, even though I definitely think Gruden is a damn good coach, it would be a bit of a gamble IMO handing over a college program to him ... who knows what you'll get from him or DelRio or anyone similar.

Disagree- would be a disaster for LSU...

All of this may be true, but is there ANY indication that Gruden would be interested in coaching at the college level, and if so, at LSU?

hell no on both. He is all NFL. We are just talking about if he would be successful at the ncaa level.

this is our last hope in terms of getting rid of miles. hopefully michigan doesn't let me down like they did 3 years ago.

Michigan needs a man who played for and coached under Bo.

Why do people actually buy the BS Les turned down UM to stay at LSU?
He was never likely even officially offered the job and stayed at LSU for one reason and one reason only. $18.75 Million dollars GUARANTEED. PERIOD!
Stop acting like Les made some huge sacrifice to stay at LSU. He didn't.

You must've really been pissed when he raised the trophy a month later.
you're going to be disappointed again. Sorry.

So Les wasn't part of the equation back then? Really?

Miles is not going anywhere.
It's a family decision. Not his decision. Remember his decision on where to coach affects his wife and children. They VERY MUCH have an opinion on where they want to live and they have VOICED that opinion.
This is now Home to the Miles family.

Was he a candidate? Sure. I am not denying that. People simply think he straight up got offered and told them no for the sake of LSU.
We have no idea if he was officially offered or even unofficially offered. All we know is he got offered a huge extension (and loads of money if he won the SEC title and NC title).
In the end, we don't know, but people assume he sacrificed something he likely didn't even have available to him.

my happiness in an lsu victory always outweighs my dislike (not hate) for miles.
