Okay. I didn't see that yesterday. That is really good news and it makes it seem as though Les is aware of the situation and is working on it.

Look, if Les evaluates the whole situation, looks at who is out there, and determines based on evidence we can't see that Crowton is the best option for LSU football right now, I'll be okay with it. I might disagree, but I don't know what he knows.

Its like when everyone was calling for Lee all season. He played well in spots, but he clearly did not play well enough to take the job. Everyone blamed Les. But, the truth is, we don't have a decent QB on the roster. There is stuff we can't see.

I'm just glad that Les seems to be on it - based on that last quote. Maybe he gives press conferences like he gives injury reports?

as the season came to an end i was pretty certain no changes would be made. I've been trying to keep that mindset so i don't get letdown. if a change is made i'll be pretty pumped but not too shocked if nothing happens.

Not having a "decent qb on the roster" for three years is no one elses fault but the coaches. I strongly advise you people who claim to know your junk on this board to go look at scout/ rivals etc and go look at LSU's QB recruits so far this year... a 3 star???

C'mon man? How many times does Miles have to show you? When he says something, it is always completely the opposite. So, him not talking about doesn't mean he is likely gone, it means he is likely staying...

What he meant was:

“I’ve got to be real honest. I don’t want to talk about my cemented-in-stone decision that I'm letting Gary stay because it's a real hot topic around here to where if I allowed the subject to be brought up at this very moment, well then for the next couple of months, myself and the team would probably have to deal with pissed off non-Crowton fans and could get hounded over it by the media when we don't need distractions like that while preparing for a bowl game.”

Nah. If Crowton was staying Miles would have dangled something shiny in the fans faces. Like PP7 playing on offense or promising more touches for Shep.

Mascona made a good point on the radio yesterday, as I'm sure many of you heard. When Miles lets someone go, he likes to do it in a classy fashion, i.e. making sure they find another job first so it looks like they left instead of getting fired. Crowton is owed a half million dollars next year.... He aint leaving for a less paying job. He's going to make LSU fire him and buy him out. Not sure Les will do that........ we'll see

Crowton will be back. Miles is keeping him around so that when the heat is on Les (again) he can throw Crowton under the bus and keep his job

As opposed to hiring a good OC and never feeling the heat?

That seems pretty uncanny for Miles...sounds like the wheels are turning....

Looks like somebody up at the top had a nice "discussion" with Miles about possible coaching changes.

It would not surprise me that if Miles announces Crowton is leaving to accept a position with "fillintheblank", he then turns around and announces that he's hired "fillintheblank" for OC. IOW, I bet he has the replacement waiting at the door as Crowton walks out of it.

In this landscape of college football, you better not let one OC go and then start your process of trying to find a replacement. Better have "your guy" already committed to accept and step in. HST, I don't think Miles kicks Crowton to the curb.
