If Miles decides to finally take a non-coaching job-i.e. ESPN, will his contract buyout still be reduced by the payment he may receive ?

For once I feel sorry for the man. He really does believe a big time program would hire him. If he really wants to coach he better take the Purdue job. He is not getting a much better offer.

I'm perplexed as to why Les Miles' name is not at the top of anyone's list.

because no one wants to watch an offense that should be in leather helmets, appearing on grainy, black and white film, with a fast talking narrator that reminds us to "buy war bonds"

"a novel concept appeahs on this play- the fowahd pass!"

I think it's just coaching jobs, which are normally well paying jobs. The intent of the clause is to minimize the buyout expense to LSU. Otherwise, he could simply take a 1-hour per week burger-flipping job and pocket all of the buyout payments.

Maybe he should coach at navy, GT, or army.

If he werent 65 he would get offers from P5 programs. He has had 2 successful tenures at programs and qon more than his predecessor at every stop.

After what LSU just did, why would ANY coach not think he can land a premiere job?

I'm not. Aside from Michigan rumors, who else had come calling for him during his 11 years at LSU?
