No wonder Knight loves him.
Exactly. Now, Ozzie Guillen would fit right in as their baseball coach.

I read somewhere that Leach and Knight always hang out at Knight's house on Halloween. I bet that is wild.

I bet it is.
Leach has some pretty wild videos on youtube. They let him do the weather on the Lubbock news station one time, and he gave dating tips to an undergrad student at Tech on a weekly Tech sports show.

Ozzie Guillen, Mike Leach, and Bobby Knight in the same spot would probably cause a riot.

Does anyone believe that an offense like that would work in the SEC?

Didn't Leach run the same offense at Kentucky with Couch, who set records?

Different Situation. Spurrier's offense in 1990 was no 'gimmick', it was the same offense the Houston Oilers were basically using at the time just watered down a bit.

Why would he leave?

I guess he has stayed in Lubbock for eight years because it is a shithole. Give me a break on that crap. I know more about Lubbock than I care to.
He is making 1.75 mil a year and is due for a new contract.
Since he has never had a losing season at Tech and it was his first head coaching job he should just find another job, since Lubbock is a shitty place.

Mume ran the Offense at Kentucky. Franklin was bringing it to Auburn until Tuby fired him. To answer the question yes it can work but the head coach must give the OC coaches who understand the system on his staff. Tuby was not going to get rid of his asstant cronies. Franklin got screwed but hey alot of good coaches get screwd.

No.
Good recruiting base. If they keep winning they will pull some of the bigger names.

if they could somehow win this whole thing this year and use their name to attract talent, they could focus all of their recruiting efforts on defense.
if they had an sec defense, oh my, look out
the only place leach would go to is the nfl. could you imagine that offense in the nfl? yikes
Bama stopped it in Cotton Bowl. Not much defense in Big XII.

Tech has great facilities. Any public school in Texas has plenty of money. And recuriting....Texas....as long as they pony up I don't think he will leave.

that being said, the offense requires that the quarterback have excellent vision and that he has time to throw...Harrell made some throws under pressure whereas most quarterbacks would have rolled outside

Either way, he will be cashing in big time!
Harrell makes some incredible decisions!

Bama led the nation in total defense that year. Also as far as the Big 12 defenses go do you think their performance may have something to do with the Big 12 having the #s 2,3,4,5,6,20,21,and 24th ranked offenses in the nation in that conference?

Leach is in a good situation and I doubt he leaves Lubbuck.
