Leach took a pirate mentality at Texas Tech years ago. The students adopted it and it became his MO.

He took an entire offseason and learned everything he could about pirates. Read books, traveled down to Florida and the Carribean, did some dives down to look at sunken boats, rode the ride at WDW, etc.
He is obsessed with them.
