Mike Gundy - Oklahoma State - Oregon

He is quietly putting together a great season at OSU. They were robbed on one of their two losses (Central Michigan).
For some unknown reason, I've heard from a Poke alum that Gundy and T Boone are not even speaking to one another.
Oregon is supposedly looking to throw $10 million at the right coach. I think Gundy and his philosophy would be a great pick for Oregon.

Sounds like Boone Pickens is a huge pain in the arse.
I wouldn't be surprised to see OSU fire Gundy, then Boone dies a week later, OSU makes a terrible hire and stuck in mediocrity for the next decade.

That actually would be a solid move. Seems like Gundy should finally go elsewhere. I feel like Oregon should also look at Fleck.

Can you tell me a little more about him. I haven't watched a lick of Western Michigan football. Is Fleck an offensive or defensive coach? He's really young, but has improved very year at Western Michigan. Can he recruit moderately well (I certainly am not expecting him to pull in top 20 classes at Western Michigan)?
Do you think he is honestly good enough to bypass the mid-level jobs and go straight to the bigger jobs (Oregon, LSU, Texas, etc)?
Just for example: Urban Meyer: Bowling Green --> Utah (mid-level) --> Florida/Ohio State (majors)
ETA: I'm certainly not implying that he won't be a great one, but to throw $10 million at him after a few solid seasons at Western Michigan seems risky. Who knows? He may be the best amongst all the names being thrown out there.

Oregon certainly wouldn't throw 10 mil. at Gundy. He would take 5 mil and they could overpay a D.C. like Aranda 2.5-3mil

I dont think he would fit there, I actually think he would be a better fit at LSU, his offense, with Aranda's def... yikes..

I don't know how many times I've said on here that Gundy would be an excellent hire and got bashed. He's a great coach

I was doing the same. Even listed all the reasons why, same with Dan Mullen. Hell, even Fedora.

Gundy would be a PR disaster at uppity Oregon

That would be an excellent hire by Oregon. Another name I'm hearing is Dan Mullen. Either would be home runs for Oregon.

That's honestly the first time I've ever read someone refer to Oregon as "uppity". I really don't think that's the case.

Why, because he went on a rant 10 years ago defending his own player? I've never heard of any other controversy surrounding him.
