Former Oregon coach Mike Bellotti to ESPN.com on Chip Kelly's decision: "If he has a choice between UCLA and Florida, I think he would take Florida. They’re both good jobs, but UCLA has fired every coach since Terry Donahue. People think he’s got the success on the West Coast, but the reality is he’s an East Coast guy. ... UCLA is a very good job. I’m not sure I could say it’s a great job."

Probably hopes he doesn't go to the PAC12.

While technically the east coast, I doubt Kelly's definition of "east coast" includes Gainesville, FL. Not a ton of similarities between New Hampshire and Central Florida

This is just further evidence that nobody knows what Kelly wants to do

exactly. Belotti sounds like a clueless west coast guy.

Kelly at UCLA would be tough competition for Oregon in recruiting and as a cross divisional opponent.

I could be wrong. Bellotti may not care about Oregon.

I doubt Kelly at UCLA would out recruit Taggart with the Nike brand behind him. Kids love those unis ect and Taggart is pulling Florida talent with him as well.

I meant competiton for
Western recruits, especially in southern California.

If Kelly goes to UCLA and Frost to Nebraska, would Taggart then be a top candidate at UF?

Doubt it, i mean as good of a recruiter as he is in the state, SS would have a hard time selling the GatorNation on the hire of a HC with a losing record. After the last 2 unprovens flopped the way they did, he better find someone with a good track record. Just my .02, really who knows?

Kelly
Frost
Norvell
Kiffin
Morris

The fanbase wants a guy who can build an offense that will put up points, i think any of these guys would be a good hire with a good DC.

Taggart will finish with an 8-5 record...will romp the beavs and any low tier bowl opponent.

He would also be dumb to leave with what is coming back year combined with the landscape of the pac 12 north and our schedule.

Meant overall he has a losing record as a HC, not just this season

He's always been an East Coast guy.

Just happened to get the Oregon gig.

You do realize he's taken over bad programs which is why he has a losing record.

Spurrier left.

Zook was fired.

Meyer left.

Muschamp was fired.

McElwain left (albeit without UF making any attempts to keep him).

UF is a great job, but let’s not pretend that it’s the best working environment.

Considering UF gladly let McElwain go because of his attitude, it’s odd they’re hot to trot to get Kelly, who was fired at Philly for the same reasons.
