If it happens, it happens. I would just like to get a great coach that wants to stay for more than 4 years. This year end shite gets old and without a doubt causes our commitments some unrest! We have a decent recruiting class, but I think we all know it needs to finish strong to be a really good class and keep up with the past 4 or 5.

Have you read anything on our Rivals site indicating Spurrier is on the radar? Or are you getting this from other sources?

I agree. I think overall he's a good guy and i'd hate to see him go crazy like Dinardo did. Most of the people i've talked to are somewhat relieved he is going. Biggest complaint: glaring tactical mistakes (playcalling and personel wise) during the course of games.
That's about how I feel. Seems like a good guy and I like his style, just doesn't seem to have "IT" on gameday.
I also think he overrides his coordinators, though I have no proof of this. That may be a reason for the tactical mistakes. He folds under pressure, as shown by 2 losses ranked as #1.

Well I honesty dont run into that very much besides on here and the same ole people that call into talk radio on such a weekly basis that the host know the names of their kids.
THe thing about personal is while that is a controversy it is indeed not a settled one and one that many of a coach would have to deal with. Tactical mistakes. He had some but so do a lot of Coaches. When Tuberville lost to SOuthern FLorida and to Miss State I was on the boards and they were as glaring and loud there as the infamous 4 and 10 here.
Every fan base sees those galring mistakes from their own coaches

BigJ has more sources than the CIA. His family is the reason BR bbq is what it is.

Both.
There are some reliable guys on Rivals who keep insisting on Spurrier and have also heard from legit sources. I wrote it off as BS a few weeks back, but every day there seems to be more and more smoke. Not quite sure how I feel about it yet.

I really think just like players, coaches can pass their prime.
It'll be Miles/Crowton version 2 with Spurrier/Crowton.
I thought I remembered Spurrier said the day he gives up playcalling is the day he retires.
No way we keep Crowton and let Spurrier call the plays.
That's just me.

Is Spurrier supposed to keep Crowton if he comes?

Lombardi hired The ole Ball coach when at Florida. So there is some history.

I highly doubt it. He might bring his son in as OC, but the ole ball coach calls his own plays.

is Spurrier past his prime? I don't think so. USC may have just been a tougher place to win than he once thought
Posted on 11/26/07 at 11:15 pm to BilJ
Spurrier can still win and in a hurry for us. The only thing I'm worried about is how does he leave the program for the next guy.

Yeah that's what I thought, sounded odd.

I'd agree with that, but it is just recruiting La. kids to LSU so how badly can he frick it up?
