Brooks says McElwain drove Trent Richardson's 2011 Tahoe to the interview and wore a suit from T-Town Warehouse.

With Saban, you can almost guarantee it won't be a flashy hire.

Plus Phillips is a former Cougar, I don't think he'd leave. And he could be to Kevin Sumlin as Major Applewhite was to Todd Graham...

Nick Saban does not have a certain philosophy on offense. Saban has said many times he wants to utilize the playmakers, big plays, and points.

that's just horse shite tbh. his offensive philosophy at LSU and Alabama nearly mirror each other. every coach has a philosophy on offense and they hire guys who reflect that philosophy.

It's really easy even for a fan to know the difference between a gimmick and a truly strong offense.

there are no gimmick offenses.

I'm sure we aren't talking about Alabama going Gus Malzahn here. Not that extreme.

So then what? Vertical stems? Triple option? The honest truth is that your offense is going to look near exactly the same next season as it has for the past few. While nick saban is there.. Alabama will rely on it's ground game and screen game to win football games.

Ok you have way too many questions and opinions flying out at once. I stated my opinion. You don't have to agree.

What do you think of Blake Anderson at Southern Miss?

They were talkin about the possibility of Terry Bowden for the Memphis job earlier on Memphis sports radio. I would think he would be a better hire than McElwain but he might not want it. Idk y he wouldn't take it tho he's got nothing else to do at UNA

I'm surprised he was able to work under Saban as long as he did.

Tell us about your experience working under Saban and why your personal experience with both leads you to that conclusion - or were you just going off what you think you know about each from message board forums.

Has anyone mentioned that premiere assistants are now faced with taking a pay cut if they choose to take a "starter" head coach job?

I doubt Memphis, Colorado St, or Fresno state can or will match McElwain's current salary.

It almost seems that if you are a Coordinator at a premiere school, you have to take head job at a big (not necessarily premiere) school to avoid a salary cut.

If our receivers would have caught half of the passes dropped in the plays drawn up, he'd look like a freaking genius.

I'm in the boat it will be an internal hire between Groh and Burns.

Anderson will likely go to UNC with Fedora IMO...

He'll look like a genius when he realizes we have a 6'1 250lb RB that can actually run.

That or that delayed handoffs are dumb as frick and don't work all the damn time.
