Napier is not my top candidate, but I would be fine with him. He actually puts LSU in a great position. Woodward can swing for the fences on a couple of guys knowing that we have some really quality upside guys in Napier and Aranda that make awesome fallbacks.

If the top brass thinks he's ready for this jump, I'm for it. He's a very good coach. It just felt too soon at initial look, but the reality is that it sounds like he's got the respect. Seems like a perfect fit now.

He might not be Woodward’s first choice and he might swing for the fences first but he will be swinging at lesser coaches with more name recognition if that is the case.

With all due respect to Matt, if I’m going to gamble I’m going with the guy who has played around with the big boys and been successful.

I just can’t see Woodward hiring a ULL coach. I’m not saying that Napier isn’t a qualified candidate. I just don’t think Woodward would hire an up and com9mg coach from a smaller school. I think he’s wanting a splash hire of an established head coach with a good track record from a bigger school.

Moscona said he hasn’t heard Napier brought up by anyone at LSU.
