Clemson adds OL coach Matt Luke & DE coach Chris Rumph. Luke was most recently a Georgia assistant from 2020-21 & Ole Miss’ coach in 2018-19, while Rumph was NFL assistant last 4 years w/Vikings & Bears

He must love Clemson more than anyone else on earth. Even Dabo. His love for Clemson will lead them back to glory

Great pickup for Dabo. Matt is a great OL coach.

He and Dabo are pretty good friends. That’s one of a few situations it doesn’t surprise me to see him come out of retirement for

A million dollars annually probably doesn’t hurt.

Isn't Luke the coach that said the 365 day grind and burn-out in college wasn't sustainable?

Rumph was Alabama’s DL coach from 2011-2013. Good DL coach. Solid recruiter. Saban had hired him away from Clemson in 2011.

yes
I'm sure Dabo sold him on a non-UGA workload. Kirby learned under Saban. Saban demands his coach's full and undivided attention. That's rough when you have school-age children.
Two working for Saban at LSU stories:
One day he couldn't find an assistant. He's running around the football offices losing his shite because someone is gone. The guy ran out for about 10 minutes to pick up some fast food. After that incident, Saban had lunch brought in daily and forbade anyone to leave the building during work hours.
One of his assistants snuck out of the building on a Sunday to show face at his kid's birthday party. Saban caught wind of it and dog-cussed the guy before the staff upon his return. The person who told me this said the guy was gone for about 30 minutes.

I am an unabashed Matt Luke apologist. They played everyone close his final year at Ole Miss

How dare every other dad not be as absent and shitty of a father as Nick. Absolutely shameful!

Not surprised Saban is a POS and an a-hole behind the scenes. His teams win football games though.

He's such a good guy though. He carves out a whole 10 mins every morning at 6 am to talk to his wife over coffee at the dining table in pitch black.
Family man of the century!

Damn, Luke is a good OL coach and recruiter.

John Thompson got the DC job there in early 2000, and had Saban in the car driving through north Louisiana on recruiting. Saban was screaming at him the entire time. Thompson got home and call Houston Nutt and bolted to Arkansas.
