I just want lots of distractions with Bama leading up to this game.

As many as possible.

You see the waist benders that played for UW that dominated our conference? Cristobal will be set up for success. We have 5 returning starters and 8 guys with starts and a good class coming off a redshirt.

We don't need uppercrust guys but we do need a national recruiter to recruit the OL. There is simply no numbers up in the NW.

This. He may have south Florida connections, but it will be hard for him to pull the upper crust of guys from south Florida to Oregon

FL has BucckTeetch, Richt, Strong, Kinfin. Paul Johnson etc etc. So recruiting will be eta: night and day high level heavy recruiting there the next years to come

Hearing rumors Locksley and Cristobal could jump to UF, it Mac's big roll of the dice to try and change the one really glaring weakness he's shown as a HC.

Like the rumors of Tosh Lupoi as DC at UF, then Shannon gets promoted instead?

Oregon is going to give him an extra 300k annually and give him the OC spot. I think we're the competition but the people who were saying this was a wrap have certainly softened their tone.

He's never called plays.

And Alabama won't go quietly. Certainly willing to match pay. But doubt Cristobal would be offered game planning duties to appease him. If he wants to be an OC he's gone. And good luck to him.

Taggart has always called his plays and he intends to do so. Whether the title is enough to sway him, who knows?

Allegedly Cristobal isn't happy with his pay and the expanded role at Bama coaching the TEs.

Also, I personally wouldn't want to work under Sark. Saban can micromanage a lot but alcoholism is a bit much for even little Satan.

If Cristobal is indeed feeling like he's pulling too much weight, it may increase under Sark. Dude was known to run up astronomical tabs during the work week at UW.

The last part is me being full of shite. However, I would run out of town while the getting is good. Cristobal isn't going to expand his role at Bama if Saban wants philanderers and alcoholics.

Nobody thought Lupoi was coming to UF as D.C. Or that he would be offered. That was Shannons job to lose.

Cristobal hasn't been happy at Alabama or working under Saban since last year. I doubt matching one of Oregon or UFs pay will be enough to keep him around. Mario didn't much appreciate being demoted.

Mario making good coin and I doubt he leaves for a lateral move. But if so then so be it. NS has proven that he can bring in guys who are no less good at recruiting and coaching then the one who left. Look at Pruitt. Lupoi as recent examples.

Cristobal is by no means the highest paid OL coach in the nation, let alone SEC. There are a few in front of him, including UGA's and UF's OL coach.

525k is nothing to sneeze at though, especially since he was "demoted" to just tackles and tight ends. Brent Key is getting just 350k for coaching guards and centers.

Only reasons I see him moving on is if he wants more control over the OL again and/or he hasn't gotten the rub he expected working under Saban.

It use to be "Cristobal will be a HC in a year or so" to the phone not ringing anymore...

wow, some of you ride the nutz of such average retreads.

Seriously, Cristobal is an average coach, but since he got that Bama cred, he'll get a gig he should of never been a candidate for. And he will be fired with in 4 years for poor work.

He won't have Sabans 5 star kids to work with
