Major Applewhite possibility?

Has anyone heard Major Applewhite's name associated with the OC job if it opens up like rumors are saying? Thought he did a decent job with Bama last year, been in UT's offense this year, and seems like a leader type guy that relates well to the players. I think he would be an outstanding fit and he went to Catholic High BR so wouldn't be a 'big' move.

If the rumors are true hopefully it would promote Gonzales to OC and bring in Tolbert for WR's considering he is jobless now.

He was Bama's OC in Saban's first year when they went 6-6 or some shite. He was pretty much fired and the found a job coaching RBs (easiest position to coach) on his college coach's staff at his alma mater. He has done nothing to prove that he's a decent coach.

Regarding Applewhite at Alabama. Three things led to him not succeding in TTown.
1. He was in over his head as OC. You can see that on the field. We had a good offensive line in 2007, with good running backs, good receivers. JPW was the weak link, Applewhite was not able to keep him steady and to limit his mistakes. Look at ULM and MSU losses late in the season, retarded play calling led to turnovers deciding those games.
At Rice he benefitted from a perfect mix of good athletes at skill positions, good easy schedule, and a offense oriented head coach. He can ride these coattails of easy success and slap his name on it. His success as a player obvious helps in building his profile too.
2. He had a very hard time working for Saban adn what he demands of his staff. The long hours, Saban's drive to get the ship turned around, and the added weight on Applewhite to drive the offense. During games, he was not able to keep the offense up with the development that was taking place during practices.
3. His wife hated Ttown. The long hours, forcing her to be relatively alone for most of their time had to be tough. Especially, when you are young and have a VERY decent life in places like Houston(she is from Houston) and Austin, Texas. very understandable.
Texas fans think He should be HC over Muschamp.
IMO, he will be hosting an Austin Radio Show in the next five years.
Muschamp is of the Saban mold, he will take the highest qualified coach over keeping the favorite son of Texas(nepotism) when you consider him building his own staff.
