Big Mike ?@MBHORNSFAN 16m 610am in Houston just reported Mack Brown will step down tomorrow
Confirms beingreal's assertions.
I know you don't like/trust/respect his tweets, but I've continued following him just because he seems to be one guy in Texas that hasn't been focused on the Saban to Texas stuff, and focused more on the Mack getting canned.

You keep citing AJ as a source but he hasnt said anything specifically about the matter at hand. He said he doesnt "think" he would leave. Also, that he asked Saban "a while ago".
But relative to the current rumors, AJ has no info. Aight?

I care nothing about the rose. College football and coaching have become a major business. In by gone eras it may have been more about the love of the school (see Bear Bryant and countless other examples of guys returning to their alma maters), but now it's just about finding a guy who can make your program the envy of all others, and Saban has become the go to CEO of college football. The ones who don't think of it as a business would probably go more religious and call him a football Jesus, but the fact is his process turns programs into the efficient winning machines.
I think you and I are in agreement on this point. My "enjoyment" (for lack of a better term) comes from watching Bama fans that think Nick will stay because he loves Tuscaloosa, loves Alabama, Mrs. Terry loves Alabama, nothing is as good as Alabama, etc., etc. That is just delusional. It is all about the money.
Granted, most of the Bama fans that think this way have probably never stepped foot in a classroom on the Tuscaloosa campus.

Regarding his bad debt and the comments about going after one partner in an LLC if the other defaults....
If Saban were smart he would have made sure to have the deal set up with "limited guarantees"...so that he is only responsible for his portion of the debt (49.5%) rather than the entire amount (100%) should his partner or the LLC fold.
The other thing is the deal may have been a non-recourse deal...i.e. the bank can only seize the property and not go after other assets (i.e. only collateral is the real estate). Those types of deals are riskier for the bank and usually mean higher interest rates, lower loan-to-value ratio (i.e. more $ down), and other less attractive terms for the borrower, so the bank can make up for that risk. However, with "Coach Saban" involved, a bank may have given him a sweet a deal to have him as a client & for potential future business.

Only his QB, wife, and a handful of 18 yr old recruits know the REAL story!
His wife is the big one to me. You can say all you want to about Nick's honesty and character, but one thing he has shown is that he is super committed to his wife. That makes me think that the negative light that could be cast on her from her interview where she said they would stay, would cause Nick to not to leave.
But hey, women change their minds all the time. Right?

Saban announcement may or may not come on Mon/Tues, but the Mack Brown resignation at the Banquet tomorrow appears to be a done deal.
