I just don't understand why Saban would even consider leaving Bama... I mean he still regrets leaving LSU
I don't see this happening no matter how bad most of us want it to.
The one thing I am confused on is this "debt" everyone keeps referring to. What is this about?

Wouldn't Texas striking out be a lot funnier than Bama losing Saban?
nope, not in the slightest

TheDoc on here claims Saban is up to 40 million dollars in personal debt.
Well he used to be. Texas boosters have paid it all off.

I have trouble buying the debt stuff. There is no way that an LLC wasn't setup in this situation with investments as big as these. The LLC would have the debt, but it would protect the personal finances of the Saban family for the most part.
i have a bunch of LLCs and have created a ton of them BUT here is what people don't understand they are great for protection from lawsuits and business deals per se but zero protection from banks because they almost always make u sign for the loans personally too. that is the story from a year or so back they defaulted on a bank loan. they were all personally liable bank can go after one or all

Does he really, though?

"Allegedly", Nick Saban gets burned in shady real estate investments at every coaching stop he makes.
In BR, he was burned by Perkins Rowe.

I would have to agree with this. However I also read that the Sabans signed as guarantor on some of this debt.

Doc, you can definitely confirm that the Perkins Rowe debt has been bought? TIA

I beat you to it but I am glad you corroborated it for me. People form LLC's all the time thinking they can do whatever they want and not have to pay for it

Having an LLC isn't going to absolve it's members of their debts (or the companies debts) if they signed a personal guarantee (which is almost a certainty on a deal as big as the ones being talked about here.

I'm lamenting the fact that my manager double-booked me for tomorrow. I've gotta go to Dalton for a sales meeting, but I was supposed to be in Anniston for the day. Would have been priceless to be in the state if the Mack story goes down tomorrow.

Shockingly, Saban-a jock- is up to his eyeballs in debt because he made bad investments.
He's like that 30 for 30 special Broke.
Dude is in for millions. Whoever buys the debt, buys his services.
He's a merc.

Does saban usually make his in homes to the big recruiting targets this early? If he leaves bama for texas, does he get a whole new round of in home visits with these guys? That would be pretty shrewd.
Posted on 12/11/13 at 10:57 pm to footwedge
Probably, I would assume visits are tied to schools and not coaches

Can't speak to your experience, but an LLC protects the owners from the debts of and any judgments against the business. This is legal fact. I had a company for years and sold it. We were an LLC for specifically the reason listed above. I wanted personal protection due to the nature of the business and hired very good attorneys to make sure I got it.
An LLC is the best way to go. I purchased many items through banks - including building for the office - and was never asked to provide any personal guarantee for the loans. In fact, I don't know any owner of an LLC (other than you, apparently) who has been asked to do so.
