The official numbers are out…10 years, $95m. $9.5 per year + potential incentive bonuses

This is not speculation/rumor…It was in the official LSU press release LINK

quote:

PRESS RELEASE BATON ROUGE – The search for LSU Football’s next championship head coach is over. Brian Kelly, who has more victories than any active coach in major college football, has been hired as the head football coach at LSU, LSU Director of Athletics Scott Woodward announced on Tuesday. Kelly, who will receive a 10-year, $95 million contract, plus incentives, will be formally introduced as the 34th head coach in LSU Football history at a press conference at noon CT on Wednesday.

ETA: *lol at Michigan State

And Michigan State just gave Mel Tucker 95 million. What a bargain. LSU has won this years coaching search, no doubt about it boys. Still gives us a lot of room to work with on assistants pay.

Yeah that’s why I posted, I’m already tired of a few people (and some opposing fans) melting about the incorrect $15m number

and just think this is what we were paying the Ogre to destroy the program, so for a measly 17 million buyout over a 10-year period, we got a real head coach, we made out as good as could be expected

essentially we are paying 11.2 million a year (or a 1.7 million a year surcharge) to upgrade in a huge way

Coaching until he is 70? He's not Saban.

He’s not required to coach until he’s 70. I suspect he’ll turn over the reigns to someone after his 3rd LSU championship in Year 7 or 8. It’ll probably be 4 titles, but I’ll be conservative and go with 3 titles.

Who threw that figure out to begin with?

Idiots on the SEC Rant were of course running with it as gospel, and people were messaging Moscona about it during his stream last night. Moscona even said $15 mil sounded like bullshite, and there was no one reputable reporting it on social media.

It was obviously wrong information
