Is this the new OC's decision entirely?

Any changes would have to be made after February. I think coach O learned his lesson about that.

Since he's not known as a big time recruiter, he would we wise to take a long look at keeping Juluke and Craig, even if just for a year to see how things work. Especially Craig. I am betting Grimes is already solid. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Yep. Craig, Juluke, & Grimes are all good recruiters & do a respectable job at coaching players up. Ensminger isn't going anywhere either.

It looks like we have our staff for next year...minus a special teams coach.

His lines have been pretty good the last couple of years & he's a good recruiter. His line needs to show up against Bama though...the last 2 years have been horrible.

I'm not sold on Grimes as a talent developer. He is a good recruiter though

I can guarantee you that he's not getting fired though... Especially with PFF calling our offensive line the best in the country

I think Grimes did a respectable job this year given the circumstance. Malone & Boutte played better than expected. Weathersby, Clapp, & Teuhema were banged up nearly all year, & Pocic was forced to move all over the line. I'd like our pass protection to be better as well, but I don't think he's a bad coach.

Pocic was the only returning starter that played all year.

I think a lot of this is not really the fault of grimes but more the fault of Moffit. Our lines have seemed to get ridiculously weak strength wise the past couple of years.

The O-line has been very disappointing during Grimes' tenure. I say there are better O-line coaches out there especially for the salary LSU is paying Grimes.

I would like to see Grimes for a season without Miles around. It would be interesting to see if he was doing some meddling there. There were rumors to that affect.

This. Grimes will get one more year. Miles had his dumbass all up in the offensive line. There is no way we can afford to let Grimes go right now, if so recruits would follow and we can't afford to lose any offensive linemen.

Ding Ding Ding

I say they are weaker than other teams players. We need better work from Moffit, or change that coach up to a newer younger strength guy

All that and I don't think people realize that the O-Line has to be in synch with the QB in order to provide good pass protection. This year they spent the off season working with one QB whose movement in the backfield was completely different from the QB they had from the 2nd game on.
