It really don't matter, if and when he is hired, we need to support this and move on from it, there aint nothing any of us can do about it but root for the best outcome, Lol

His defenses at LA Tech were good.

This would be a good hire for LSU but I seriously doubt he's a true co-dc if they go that route. Most likely they'll give him heavy input on gameday planning but it's all Jones on gameday. You don't pay him that with a co-dc in mind. I think it's a better stance to strongly lock Louisiana and parts of Texas down in recruiting than having connections into Georgia/Bama. You have recruiting battles against 2 powerhouses and distance is further away an issue. Texas is right next door with basically nobody worth a shite. TAMU getting 1 good season means nothing if Jimbo can't sustain it which he won't and it's loaded with talent. If you filled LSU's roster up with nothing but Texas and Louisiana players you'd win championships. It's much easier to sell to Texas kids to come to LSU than Georgia/Bama kids for numerous reasons.

This doesn't exist. In every instance, there is one DC and the other is a title, and basically assistant DC.

Because they are morons. Dude coordinated and called plays for a top rated defense in 2019 and 2020, the pandemic year when defenses across the country got destroyed, they think he now sucks. They also had opt-outs and turmoil like LSU did.
He improved his defenses at LaTech, had very good TFL numbers, then had Miami with a top 15 scoring D in 2019 and had top 5 TFL numbers in 2019 and 2020.
He's a very good hire for LB coach and I'm fine with him getting Co-DC title. It can only help Daronte Jones to have position coaches that have called an entire defense at a high level before.
