Wasn't there some 60 minutes thing about how valuable Nick Saban actually was to the University? Applications from out of state are through the roof because of Saban. I think he's easily worth $10 million a year to your school. As someone who knows the power of football and what it can do to the perception of your schools, I would say 3 national championships in 4 years is easily worth $100 million dollars to Texas A&M, and it would be a no-brainer at every level.

Bama fans forget they have gaps between their great coaches. If Saban leaves, enjoy not competing for the SEC championship.

Any mention of anything to do with the situation by a Bama fan is going to be immediately seen as insecurity. Doesn't matter how genuine you are.

And I appreciate more than anyone what Saban has done at Bama but the U of Alabama will be OK. This is not FSU who Bowden built or Boise St, it is ALABAMA where a coach roamed the sidelines who won 6 NCs. Hell we were in the dark ages with Dumbose and Shula and each one of those guys had 10 win seasons. It is a premier job in the best division of the best conference in college football and Sabn would be absolutely DESTROYED by the media if he left now, like this, with Bama's offer on the table and what would Bama do?

Bill Battle wouldn't have a free minute to make a statement from answering phone calls from all the interested coaches and NO ONE is off limits since it is such a good job putting a HC in a great position for success long term with a stacked roster.

Dude, $$$$$ is, by far, the best college coach in the business.

Whoever you get is going to be a downgrade, and you'll be screaming for the next guy's head when he doesn't bring in a #1 or #2 recruiting class and the Tide loses 4 or more games in a season.

Yes, his predecessors each had 10-win seasons, but they were surrounded by mediocrity or worse, and they were fired.

You can spew that "We are BAMA" crap all you want, but the fact of the matter is Bama wasn't much of a factor year in and year out until the best coach in the world showed up. When he leaves, you will struggle (maybe not losing seasons, but you won't be going undefeated and playing for hardware every year).
