Sorry buddy, it's true.

1. He's never been east of the Rocky Mountains.

2. He has pretty much said bluntly that he doesn't want to coach anymore.

3. He loathes recruiting. It's a 24/7 gig with recruiting at LSU and in the SEC. You've got to be cutthroat to do it, he's not.

well then he won't be anywhere. you claimed he would be a bad fit HERE as if he wants to coach and we have hired him. if he is not coaching anymore HOW WOULD HE fit anywhere?

do you even read wtf you spout before posting?

It does when discussing things like recruiting and the like.

If he was still wanting to coach and came here, yes, he would be a terrible fit. He would not be a bad fit at institutions that are not as expectant as LSU is when it comes to football. I'm not saying he'd be a bad fit elsewhere; but here, it would not be a good fit. He'd be like Harsin at Auburn.

No, but let's look at his other stops. Washington, PAC-12, not as competitive a conference. Not as serious on recruiting in that conference either. Much less talent in that conference. Boise St. see my Washington comments.

Fact of the matter is, you can go further on coaching ability when the talent level you're playing against is not good. In the SEC, you have to be able to coach AND recruit your arse off if you want to be a great program. I'm sorry that you can't get that, but it's not a hard concept.

You simply have to recruit at an elite level if you want to win anything in today's college football landscape; and he hardly even recruits at a good level.

How can you say he doesn’t recruit at a good level? His average class finish at Washington was 21.4. Sark, by comparison, was 24.2 *(though he did resign just before signing day on his last class)

His last 3 classes at UW were 2nd or 3rd in the pac 12 only behind Oregon and USC. And his 2019/2020 classes ranked ahead of USC.

I simply think UW isn’t an easy school to recruit. When Petersen left Jimmy Lakes recruiting fell off a cliff. (36 and 59 class ranks). He may not be ~elite~ but at the very least he’s pretty damn good.

I'll grant you that. But everything I've ever read about him, or heard on various shows from people that follow recruiting big time, every time his name is brought up regarding recruiting, the same thing is said about him. And it's that he doesn't like recruiting, doesn't want to put a premium on recruiting. You simply MUST put a massive amount of time and effort into recruiting if you want to compete in the SEC.

I’m not saying his coming here, but if anyone could get him AGAIN it’s Scotty. Coaches sometimes just need to recharge their batteries.
