I guess I don't understand why people think he can't and won't adapt a little bit to the style of players that we have and the fact that we have a top 15 defense.

Little different set of circumstances than he had at Texas Tech. We need to look at his offenses before he was HC at Tech.

I think he can adapt just fine.

When you start talking about adapting styles or combining philosophies you get the kind of crap we've had the last two years.

Exactly. Why would you hire a guy and want him to "adapt" his offense? If you don't like his scheme, don't hire him and go after somebody else whose scheme is better suited for your team and style of play.

I wouldn't hire Paul Johnson and ask him to implement a stronger passing game into his scheme, so why would you hire Leach and ask him to implement a power running game into his?

Leach is not a good fit. Let's move on.

People ask have we ever seen his offense? Yes. NO running backs at all. Yet here the last couple of years, we've been recruiting for the exact opposite of his style? Yeah...great move.

I disagree here.

I think we have recruited some smaller back as well. Hillard is eqaul to Lagarette Blount who used to play for Oregan. They run a spread and he was a top RB before he went ape shite on boise.

Ford is pretty fast and then you have Ware, Blue, Gore, and Magee.

Not to mention all of these athletes in Turner, Martin , etc.

My point is bigger backs can make it if they are atheletic. Plsu Leach could manipulate his scheme around the talent.

My reason for passing on Leach is he comes here for one maybe 2 seasons we winn the NC and he is off to coach somewhere else. We need a 3-4 commitment right now.

he hd a good running back at tech that ran very well he just sets up the run with the pass but hell he cannot get top tier o lineman, etc. he mad a winner out of what he had which tells me he could adapt some new things and make good on our talent here

Not being a dick but how do you knwo he didnt?

We he first got there i am sure that those kids he didnt recruit. Maybe he came in with the type of offense he already had but i doubt every school hires coaches that run a similiar offense adn can coach the kids availbale.

I think to a certain degree if the coach wants to run a certain offense then they bring in an expert. but if you are bring in a guru like Leach, or malzahn, then you let them run teh offense adn do it there way. you are hands off.

Because he ran the same air-raid offense every year. I don't see him coming here and all of the sudden implementing a power running game in his scheme. Not a good fit.

I do not understand why LSU fans think Leach would be such a great hire.-Alabama fan.

equals
Please God no, dont let them hire that crazy Genius. It is not fair, we were back on top.

All smart coaches adapt to their talent on a yearly basis, all. We are not a power running team for any other reason than we cant throw the damn ball. or What does our power running team rank in offense? Take your pick.

He will only be here two years or so. That is valid point.

because the personnel we have and are currently recruiting fit a very different style of offense than what Leach brings to the table.

Obviously from looking at the numbers our current personnel doesn't fit crowtons system very well either.

And personally I would love to see leach lock JJ in a tool shed.

I'm a huge Leach fan, but I dont really see him taking a backseat to Les. I see him as a HC somewhere. But if he was here, our offense would be hell. LSU recruits NFL WRs, we'll have talented QBs (I think he could even do something with JL), and Leach does employ a running game its just overshadowed.
