Many of them are not LSU fans, they come here from other schools. Several have multiple user names.

He needs to quit talking to anyone other than his friggin team and new coach hires if he truly wants to stay.

Shouldn't he be spending that time trying to hire a coach at LSU??????????
When he fills the coaching vancancies at LSU then he can worry about helping with the coaching vacancy at fricking Michigan

ok specs i agree with you that the miles to michigan talk needs to be pulled off life support soon. the lomger this bs lingers the more stink it will cause as we near jan 7th. i'm like you guys i want that third banner to hang from tiger staduim come sept of 08, and this could hinder our chances of hanging up that banner, so let it die.

Oh the irony in that single statement!

I've never bashed his coaching style, and appreciated what he's done as HC at LSU. I've never said he should leave. And NO- I don't think if Les leaves, it'll mean a hill of beans to LSU Football success in the future. No irony there.

Maybe we should require him to raise his hand and ask Bertman for permission to go to the bathroom while we're at it.

I'll post it again, LSU didn't give Miles a new contract to consult at Michigan 1 month out from a Nat'l Champ game. It's business. And within 2 weeks of a major controversy with his old school, he's back talking to them again, regardless of what it's about. Who pays the salary for Les, Michigan or LSU? Time for Les to decide- coach LSU in the NC game and steer clear of Michigan's problem, or decide to leave.

We're playing for the National Championship. We are still without a defensive coordinator.
Yet our coach has so much time on his hands that he can concern himself with helping Michigan find a coach.

anyone ever have a kid who got caught doing something they weren't supposed to.....what do they do?....
1. they DENY
2. they backpedal fast
3. they make up things that make it sound like they were not doing anything wrong
4. they finally tell the truth...(jan 8?)

I don't know or really care ( ok a little ) if LM comes to UofM or not....it just seems to me that he sounds like a little kid who got caught where he shouldn't have been....talking to michigan if he is an "LSU" man

For starters, he's not a kid...so I'm not sure the analogy plays. But it is the month that "Santa Claus" comes, so you believe whatever you want.

Besides, the only way your scenario plays out is if Miles proves he's the kind of man not worth keeping.

If he's a man of his word, he stays....we win!
If he's not a man of his word, you're the ones stuck with him...we win again!

Sorry

And exactly how much time do you think Miles spent in this conversation with Michigan? Folks act like he has committed weeks of his time, when in fact, as far as we know, one single solitary telephone conversation with Michigan. I would think that is as far as it goes. It's not as if he is serving on the search committee or is a full-time consultant.

As far as the DC position is concerned, a few folks were stroking out last year, wringing their hands about our OC and how long it took. And for what?

What if in fact there is already a deal struck, say with Tenuta, but they aren't ready to announce it yet because he is the interim HC at GT getting ready for a bowl game. What if it is another DC coaching in bowl game and they aren't ready to announce. Chill. It will be ok.

When did he do something he wasn't supposed to? When he didn't meet with michigan? When he cleared up distractions and won the sec champ? When he succeeded in getting our team to the national champ? Maybe it was when he officially said he was staying at lsu and signed a contract through 2012??

I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt and not assume you're an idiot...do you honestly believe that our team needs Les to come out and have a press conference to assure them he is not leaving?? I mean ...honestly. Who cares if some of the tiger nation is convinced Les is evil and will soon betray us and leave?? Unfortunately our opinion doesn't matter. We're not the ones who are strapping up to represent our school and hopefully take home a national championship. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion...but your's is baseless. I mean what more could you want than the players themselves being happy and content with the situation and confident in their coach? There are two things that make this an issue...1)the media...and 2) fans like yourself who decide to stir up the pot. It is our job as responsible fans to support OUR team. How are the players supposed to react win fans can't even be confident in the team?

No, I think Les Miles held a press conference hours before the SEC championship game because he TIVO'd it and likes to see himself on TV. And then LSU sent out a press release today because they don't think the PR department is putting in enough hours.

WRONG!
There's one thing and one thing only that makes this an issue. Miles keeps talking with Michigan.

Let me ask you this: In your job, if you have one because you can't seem to comprehend this, say you have a major project/presentation/meeting in a few weeks that will make or break your company's success for the year and the future. Do you sleep at your desk until then? Not talk to FRIENDS/family? Not watch some TV? You get my point.

On a Friday night, Les took the call (most likely at home with his family) and talked with the President of the university where he graduated...

If you are an alumnus of LSU, and Lombardi called you during your winding stretch to your project, would you take it??

I only care about the National Championship

Way to have a broad well balanced outlook on life.

So, since that's all you care about, hopefully you are taking appropriate steps to make it happen. Pick a field of endeavor at which you have some skill. Enter competition in that field. Practice and hone your skills until you are at the top of your field. And go ahead and bring home that National Championship.

Not as much stress that way as relying on others to do it for you when they just won't obey every instruction you give them on how to go about their business.

Yes, talking to friends and watching TV is the EXACT same thing as talking with officials from Michigan.

you remind me of that psycho type that gets mad and threatens to break up with his girlfriend for being friends with her ex. you need to chill out. it's not like he's helping one of our rival schools for shites and giggles, it's his ALMA MATER. if your alma mater was one of the premiere football institutions in the country wouldn't you be honored if they sought your opinion?
