Les Miles' Opportunities

Say Michigan opens up and he's offered the job. This will probably the second time he's been offered the job and the likelihood of him turning it down would be minimal, IMO.
Do you think he'd leave?
To add, people want Les Miles to leave so terribly, would you be willing to give up a recruiting class that he's bringing in this year? Probably the best in years? I'm sure some will stick with a commitment if it were to happen, but if not.......that's hard to give up.
All this Miles talk about retirement, taking another job, etc etc.......couldn't come at a worse time.

...but there's always the chance the new coaching staff comes in and wipes the slate clean.
If Miles is gone, this class falls apart. Naturally, the best class in recent memory would have to be the one to do so.
There aren't many classes that stick together after something like this if it were to happen.
But at the same time, internet rumors thrive this time of year.

If this did really happen, i would say we would lose a few recruits, but I think MANY would stay. They seem to be more interested in staying home and being apart of the FAM at LSU. They like Miles, but not sure this is the main reason for their commitment.

Recruiting classes are attracted to success and whether or not they think they will be developed for the NFL.
If Miles were to leave, as long as LSU brought in a top level coach who recruits respected, there would be no attrition.
John Gruden would be such a name. Plus, Gruden could kabitz with his BFF Sean Payton 70 Miles down the road.

I think you are exagerrating the feeling of the fans. Most people are sort neutral on the subject. They see good things Les has done and like him as a person. On the other hand they don't think the program would be devastated if he left either. All the people who keep saying there is no gaurantee another coach can do a better job than Les need to realize Les is not a lock to succeed where he goes either (at least to the level he has at LSU). Les has it pretty good here. He is 14-10 the last 3 years in the SEC without a West Title in that time and for the most part he has zero pressure on him because of a massive fat cat contract.

Please get out of this thread.

if it happened and went down fairly quickly, then there is time for a new guy like Muschamp or whoever to keep this class
Regardless, great talent will never be an issue at LSU.

LSU is bigger than this, please stop w/the nonsense about Muskrat...his defense sucked it up in the Weak 12...we don't need to be a training ground for new head coaches...let the La. Tech's, ULL, or Ark. States of the world try this experiment...
