Les Miles and the future of LSU football

Billy G is good also. Bring in an experienced pro style OC and eventually turn the OC job over to Billy G after a few years. I like his energy. Not sure how that translates into play calling though. We really need a guy like this on defense though because the Chief may not be here another 7 years.

I really like the passion Billy G. brings. Hope all works out and hope to see him as oc one day

Not a coach in Waiting...just grooming folks that will be with the staff for a while. Kinda like Bud Foster and Frank Beamer...

baby steps. let's let him run the Big Cat drill for a few yrs first.

its such a long time.

let's see how he does with the team on the field.

maybe we will be calling for his head in a year or two.
maybe he will serve out his time honorably, but someone else will be AD and get his famous OC brother in law from the NFL champ to come in. ie, a lot of water will go under this bridge.
Let's see what happens really.

My housemate still shudders when she thinks of the Ole Miss game from a year before. If he has one more of those - with the SEC w on the line.... will you still be giving him his head 7 years from now? Maybe he will be f'ing senile by then. Regardless of whatever else is going on if he/LSU wins another couple of BCS championships he can name Bonzo the Chimp HC in waiting and everyone will clap.

Different era, and different level of commitment by the state and the university re football. Coach Mac did not "suck." He is never going to be known as the face of LSU football, but to say he sucked is just an uninformed comment.
And, btw I agree - no need to have a coach in waiting. Look at how well that worked in Texas.

I am not content with mediocrity. I am over 60. I know what you do not: Charles McClendon coached in a different era. He coached LSU well. Sometimes a little seasoning under your belt makes you wiser. You could use some. Think, if you can.

Mas alright, but has become glorified over the years. The offense under Mac made Crowton look like a genius, and I'm basing this on 1970 standards where scoring over 30 points was almost nonexistant vs a good team.

Don't disagree about Dietzel. Just disagreed with someone's characterization of Coach Mac. As I said, he is not the face of LSU football. The glory days are going on right now.
