Deal is not done but the interest is mutual. Sounded like the only one that could stop it from happening would be Pelini wanting it. I don’t remember exactly and I’m too tired to look again. It’s on 24/7.

He only went psycho as a HC. When he was LSU's DC, you never heard of/from him but the players loved him & look at his stats.

Pelini's last defense at LSU was a lot like the Saints defense in '09. Would give up lots of yards and points, but averaged almost 3 turnovers per game. His defenses the 2 previous years were outstanding all around, though.

But not sure I want that kind of crazy back.

False alarm. Apparently the hold up is he doesn’t like to recruit. I know absolutely nothing more. Some doubt that Pelini would want to be DC. Just saying Pelini has some pull if he wants to use it. Just be patient. What we know is that he wants the job but doesn’t want to recruit. Which means we don’t have to pay him as much and more money for Muñiz, I’m just guessing. You know that’s why they call it work and not fishing. It’s not supposed to be fun. Grow pair and recruit a few kids and we’ll literally give you millions.

So Pelini has pull with a staff he’s never worked with and an administration that isn’t the same as it was when he was here? Yea, okay.

Aranda didn’t like recruiting either but I doubt he said that in an interview. “I don’t like recruiting.” That’s like saying I don’t want the job I came to interview for.

I’m calling bullshite.

I would blow a gasket if Pellini is hired. Nevermind he's insane but by the time he left LSU his defensive scheme struggled against a league that was modernizing to the spread. On top of that he loved placing safeties that were the size of small LBs in the nickel/dime slots over CBs just so they could be isolated on the fastest/twitchiest WRs to get torched.

That was almost a decade and half ago. Did he ever change his scheme at Nebraksa? I have no idea. Maybe that's why he was shite canned because everyone runs the spread now.

He may have said that because he wants to stay in the NFL. If that's what he wants to do, what's the harm in saying "I'll take it but I'm not going to recruit"
