Dont' know why they're here but this is from a controller at BTR. The jet had a big "M" on the tail.

I fly out of Houma often and have seen this same jet ("M" on tail) here months ago. I thought it was Michigan then but why would it be in Houma?

The jet came from Georgia, and ten returned to Georgia. I don't think they came for the fuel.......

the same plane also flew into Baton Rouge in October. What's the explanation for that "visit"?

Someone big in UM athletic dept could very easily own a house in savannah, just saying.
So they fly into Baton Rouge when Les isn't here and then fly to their house after meeting with no one?

George Bass agreed to pay for the UM plane to land in BR in exchange for the fees he will get from LSU for extorting the university into a contract extension.

I know you mean this as a joke, but the timing of this really pisses me off. Would it have hurt them to fly that damn thing into BR tomorrow? Our team has a game tonight.

Yeah, figured it was as good as any rumor. I call the voices in my head my "sources."

Best theories I can think of are recruits but it is a dead period
You can shoot that theory down...dead period ended 1/3/10.

Did the plane come into BR this morning, then go to SC, then return to BR this afternoon and is still sitting in BR?

The plane could very well be used for recruiting high school prospects. The dead period ended on January 3rd and the contact period started on the 4th and goes thru the 8th. Sunday the 9th is a quiet period and the 10th-13th is a dead period for the AFCA national coaches convention in Dallas. The contact period starts back up on the 14th and ends on the 29th the last weekend a school can host official visits before national signing day.

Or they're picking up his family to go check it out. Are they in Dallas, too? I remember Saban's wife coming down from Lansing before he was introduced as HC at LSU. If they're a part of the decision it makes sense.

Lloyd Carr lives on Hilton Head Island and the airport, I believe, is Sav/HHI. The Michigan boards are speculating that the first GA trip was for the recruit, are as curious as you guys about the BR stop, and they figure whoever was on that plane went to visit Lloyd.

You know it is recruiting season right now. Saban has been everywhere this week. It is not uncommon to see another coach in your state this time of year.
