re: The Plane is Leaving for Willow Run

Regardless of whether or not he's coming to Michigan, that plane is probably taking some M people back to A2 and Les will go speak in Dallas as planned. The real question is the destination of the flight Les gets on when he finishes in Dallas.

It's about ten miles from the Big House.

Lloyd Carr lives on Hilton Head Island and the airport, I believe, is Sav/HHI. The Michigan boards are speculating that the first GA trip was for the recruit, are as curious as you guys about the BR stop, and they figure whoever was on that plane went to visit Lloyd.

We don't call them the Criminoles for nothing, you know.
Or maybe RR saw how well it worked with Beilein and decided to try it again? Seriously, though, those big $$ donors who blame the AD for RR's departure certainly seem to lend credence to the idea that WVU didn't make good on their end of the deal.

And Zee, you better hope this isn't a way for RR to back out of the deal. Otherwise, we're coming for your coach!
quote:

Why would he leave WVU? I thought he was alum there (not sure though) and has obviosuly done pretty well? All for an offer he can't refuse? I wonder how much WVU counter-offered? I can't imagine being swayed away if it wasn't that much of a difference. Alabama couldn't sway him last year and that seemed to be a considerable pay raise. Maybe he realizes he is losing his big names? How is WVU's recruiting class this year?

Well, if you believe what you read on the internet, things were not peachy between RR and the WVU AD. Even though his pay was good, the changes to the facilities weren't happening. No idea if it's true or not but, as I said elsewhere on this board, being an alumnus doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I'm excited about this hire but will be surprised if he doesn't bolt in a couple years. Hopefully we'll get a new direction in AA and remember that you don't have to live in the past to benefit from history's lessons. We'll see.
Alma maters are overrated these days.

Aw, c'mon. Don't you know--the assistants are already in place. All we need is someone to put up with them for a year.

I'm a Michigan alum, I've been reading the Michigan boards all along, and I can assure you that the vast majority of us are tired of this crap too. We know it's over.

I'd apologize for this sh*t-stirrer but I don't think he's one of ours anyway.
