Since recruits like Barry Sanders Jr. like to run their mouth, wonder if someone can get Ray Drew to spill the beans on what Michigan told him last night.

That would be the key. Ray might know all of the info that we need. I really wonder what they told him because I know he visited LSU back in October, too.

From your same article (awesome find BTW):

quote:

Brandon said Wednesday if he had made the decision to fire Rodriguez a month ago, it wouldn't have made a huge difference in recruiting.

"There's this idea that if you terminate a coach between the last game of the season and a bowl game that somehow that's going to enhance your recruiting efforts," he said. "I don't necessarily buy into that.

"We will be delaying visits that were previously scheduled … and communicating with those parents and prospects."

Just did some more research and apparently Ray is in San Antonio as of January 2nd for the Army All-American Bowl. Since your article pointed out that they're communicating with parents, I bet the Michigan officials stopped in Thomasville, GA to meet with Ray's family.

Very interesting!

Damn... even they didn't want Gary and he makes money.

Any planes from Dallas Addison, Fort Worth Meacham, & Fort Worth Alliance airports? Just to throw some more private jet airfields into the mix.

Maybe UM felt the need to hand deliver a check for $1.5 million instead of mailing it to LSU?

It still doesn't change the fact that it's EXTREMELY coincidental that a Michigan branded plane stopped in Baton Rouge this morning of all mornings.
Ok....

Michigan played in Jacksonville on Jan 1st.

Plane flys from West Palm Beach (5 hour drive from Jacksonville) the day before the bowl game to NJ.

The day after the bowl game, the plane flys from NJ to Great Exuma Island, Exuma in the Carribean and back.

Jan 6th flys from NY to Thomasville, GA.
Jan 7th flys from Thomasville, GA to Baton Rouge, then to Savannah, GA.

Where did the guys from Michigan get on the plane? They fly commercial or another private plane to NY 1st?

well... LSU plays tonight. Miles flies back to BR tomorrow. Michigan then flies Miles to Michigan for press conference.

when there is a plane of a team wanting our head coach at the airport we do not have a good track record.

Did anyone check the Alliance airport if Fort Worth for planes heading to Br and back?

Word I got was their was a Suburban that pulled up and a guy with a big white hat got out and got straight onto a plane. He just returned and got straight into another Suburban heading east on 114

This flight would fit the timeline:

LINK

Plane N816DE, registered to Pennington Aviaton in Baton Rouge.

Departed KGKY Arlington, TX @ 2:16 pm yesterday and arrived at BTR @ 3:19 yesterday. Departed BTR @ 10:36 this morning and arrived at Addison (Dallas area) @ 12:10 CST.

But I can't imagine Les would have the cojones to leave town the night before the game. Surely someone would have seen him or leaked that he left town. Maybe Alleva or someone from LSU met with Michigan's AD?

Isn't he the one that picked up the note on Eric Dickerson's Camaro?

I dont think the Pennington's would fly our coach around on a job search either...

Probably bringing family members to the game..

The LSU Learjet that your dad flew is owned by the guy that started Acadian Albulance Service. He lets the LSU coaching staff use it, and his King Air that is also painted in LSU colors, for recuiting trips.

sounds like this King Air may have picked up who ever the Michigan Lear Jet dropped off and brought them to Dallas...

New theory.

The Penningtons flew Les Miles to BTR so he could personally give Brandon the finger and tell him to leave his damn strong football team alone.
