Leading candidates for the Ole Miss job...who are they?

Is there any word on who Ole Miss will go after (that they actually have a shot at getting)? Is Hudspeth going to be in the running? I heard that he hinted on a Mississippi radio show that he would be interested in the possibility of taking that job.

I'd imagine he would be fired up to go, but he can't be #1 on Ole Miss' list huh?
Maybe he's #1 on the realistic list of people they can actually get.

Mike Reach has hinted several times he is interested but no one has contacted him about it. That would be a good hire for Ole Myth considering this is the lowest point in the history of their program.

I have to think after the debacle that was HDN, they either have to hit a home run, or get someone that is new like Hud. They can't hire another retread.

Fedora
Freeze
Hudspeth
In no particular order. Who knows though, wish we'd give Leach a call. I'd also like to see the comittee make an attempt to get up with Skip Holtz, Kevin Sumlin, Kirby Smart, or Malzahn.

I also heard a rumor that Tubby could possibly get another look. Any truth to that?

You wouldn't think so, but they are going to have a damn hard time getting anyone with a recognizable name.
Hudspeth would be a really good hire for them. He's just a winner.

Kevin Sumlin at Houston.

Completely agree, and the home run is very unlikely. Another Nutt type hire would be the worst thing for that program.

Yeah. He seems like a good coach. You wouldn't expect him to go into Ole Miss and be able to win anytime soon though. However, I said the same thing about ULL.

I've heard he'd like to get back to the SEC but just can't see him coming back to Ole Miss. I highly doubt that would go down.

Wasn't Nutt a "home run hire."

I never thought so, but some people sure did. He has always just been very meh, and that's something Ole Miss doesn't need.
As an LSU fan, I certainly hope they go for another average hire though.

Hudspeth wants the Southern Miss job if Fedora takes Ole Miss.

He's got a better job at Houston.

What about Art Briles, probably a lateral move, but I would think Ole Miss would pay more than Baylor

Ole Miss is a way better gig than fricking Baylor.

I don't think so. You could win faster with Baylor and even if you did improve Ole Miss you'd still be fighting for 5th (Ex. Mullen)
Also, the entire state of Mississippi sucks arse.
I think Baylor would be the better job. LOW expectations, Texas talent around, and you're not in Mississippi.
