Ole Miss is a coaching graveyard with Tuberville being the lone survivor. He was wise to get out when he did.

The only good thing going for Oxford is chef John Currence. So if you can't pay a good coach to end their career there, there's little other incentive for that to happen.

Sumlin would be stupid to make that move. He could stay put and be the next Chris Peterson...unless of course Sumlin knows that his success is tied to Case Keenum in the same way it turned out that Curley Hallman succeeded due to some guy named Favre who turned out to be pretty good.

If I were Ole Miss, I'd hire Gus Malzhan as head coach and see if I could pay Ogeron big money to be the defensive/recruiting coordinator. Then try to hire Larry Porter as soon as Memphis fires him.

Al Golden
Skip Holtz

Only people I'd consider that might actually come.

Maybe Malzahn if they were sure they could get a top flight DC and a recruiting badass.

I'm not sold on Al Golden at all. Golden out-recruited the MAC schools at Temple but he had a losing record against MAC teams with a winning record. Golden is a good looking guy, has a gimmick with the shirt and tie going on, but he has to learn a lot to be a successful coach in a big-time conference. Golden in the SEC?! Please, Golden is still on training wheels.

Look at what Mike London is doing at UVA. That man is taking UVA to the ACC Conference Championship with mostly scrub players.
