I am just amazed how people on this site are trying to act like Leach did nothing wrong or they support him. Well if a coach, Leach, Miles, or whomever did that to your son or was recruiting your son after the incident I am sure your mind would change. But then again some people just dont get that he violated the trust of the players that were at Tech. For my final point, can someone name anyone that was inside the program, who has left the program or still there, come to the defense of Leach? You cant, and that speaks volumes.

Horrible hire for Maryland. They wont get anyone there due to his track record. And dont blame James or ESPN for it either. Until he gives something that sounds apologetic he will be a bust because people will negative recruit him and win out atleast 75% of time.

I don't even know where to start picking this apart.

You do realize its football and being put in time out for not performing your team duties and being insubordinate should be punished right?

Exactly why Leach was fired. If you think he should be insubordinate and commit negligence and suffer no penalty then you run a poor business. Leach did this to himself, ESPN nor James' did this to him. All he had to do is sign a simple letter as requested by his boss, the AD and president. But don't let facts cloud that throwing the football will win championships, which he has never won.

Leach probably didn't do anything that any other coach hasn't done on some scale. Some of you folk are probably way too young to remember the old school coaches, even HS coaches.

He will get to Maryland and he will win. No one will remember or care what he did. Not saying what he did was right, but telling you it will be forgotten.

Leach would probably still be at Tech regardless of the James incident if he had a better relationship to the administration and the boosters.

this. I know what you're talking about. I think the major problem is some want to condemn coaches actions without ever having had a coach themselves.

Im pretty sure Maryland h.s. kids aren't nearly as good as Texas h.s. kids so I'm interested to see how he does there.

well in Texas he had to recruit all the people that Texas, Oklahoma, and Nebraska didn't want as well as having to compete with texas a&m and TCU.

He wouldn't really be recruiting maryland just the states around it. Most of maryland's roster is from Maryland, Virginia, and NJ.

Wonder what would happen to the Bear...today. Taking the kids behind the board would be...abuse. Well, it was, but it got rid of a lot of players.

true, but he now would be at the flagship university of the state. he'd have to fight off other out of state ACC schools, but you gotta like his chances

what leach did was tell that player to nut up or shut up. teach him to be a man. i want a coach teaching my son that.

i bet you put your kids in time out and take their toys away instead of beating that arse.
