Both Saban and Petrino were both seen in StarkPatch earlier today- no airplane tracking available since there really is not an airport anywhere near StarkPatch.

Mississippi State
Old coach: Sylvester Croom. Resigned Nov. 29.

Candidates: Former Clemson coach Tommy Bowden, Louisiana Tech coach Derek Dooley, East Carolina coach Skip Holtz, South Carolina defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson, Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables.

The buzz: Croom, who was the first black head football coach in SEC history, lasted five seasons with the Bulldogs, taking them to a bowl in 2007. Historically, this is one of the toughest coaching jobs in the SEC.

anyone not named Todd Graham that is offered the job is here is pretty much a failure. Miss. St needs a high scoring offense to keep up with the powers that be in the SEC and they can't compete with the recruits they usually land.

Prom, Chris Peterson from Boise State could be added to that list. It was reported in the Clarion Ledger that he didn't want the job but apparently he was "seen" in Starkville this past weekend. This is an unconfirmed rumor at best. My only source is word of mouth.

That would really suck b/c he is an incredible coach. His Boise State teams play very good fundamental football, and he has them disciplined!

I'd love to Petersen to come to State as you can tell but i think he will more likely become the next coach at Washington.

FWIW I think Dooley would be a great fit at Miss St. This guy has proven he can recruit and coach at a high level.

I keep hearing his name a lot but i dunno. Would like to see what he could do in another year at La Tech. Would be a little ironic since our La Tech loss is when the wheels started to fall off.
