I live in MS around a bunch of OM fans though. They’re good people, for the most part
The ones online aren’t that’s for damn sure
But I guess that goes for every fanbase

AND WHY IS THE GRASS GREEN

I’ve only read the OP, so forgive me if this same sentiment has been expressed in the rest of these 5 pages. But I think, based on everything, but a specific post-game interview, that if Texas comes back and beats A&M, Lane is going to want to wait until the Iron Bowl tomorrow and see if Auburn wins and puts Ole Miss in the SECCG.
And I think he wants Auburn to win. So he can put off making a final decision for another week, getting to coach and hopefully win the SECCG, both more 1st in Ole Miss history. Whether that’s for selfish reasons or he really wants to help bring that to his team, to the university, whatever. Or he may think if he wins that, they may decide to let him coach the payoffs.
I’m not sure his reasoning really matters. Unless he’s truly torn and so scared to make the wrong decision, that he knows the longer he stays, the more likely he is to see whatever sign he’s looking for to help take some of the responsibility of that decision out of his hands.
Tl;dr—if Texas hangs on to win tonight, Lane’s gonna everything he can to wait to see and hope that Auburn beats Bama tomorrow so he can try to coach in the SECCG. And I may be naive, but I prefer that over cynical, but I think a lot of this is genuine, and I have actually gained a lot of respect for him, regardless. I, personally, would be prouder for him to be the next LSU coach than I would have been a week ago.

So he doesn't know what his decision is but it will be made by tomorrow morning? Seems like the decision is made.

Nobody hurts my feelings. But the way our football season has gone, anything positive is welcome. Your being a douche. Save that shite for the first loss of baseball. Because you sound like the king of the negatigers.

He’s not making this decision on one or two games at the end of this year. What a dumb take

That’s not remotely close to what I said. I said he’s hoping to be able to play and coach in the SECCG, which wouldd postpone the announcement of his decision, not determine it. These one or two games determines if that’s even an option.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly.
