Honestly Ole Miss is the best place for him. He will be on the hotseat the minute he arrives in BR or Gainesville

He can have numerous 4-5 loss seasons at OM an keep his job.

that's the attitude of someone who cares more about money than success and legacy

competitors aren't okay with that record

the heck with worrying about being fired, you want to fire yourself

Kiffin already has all the money he needs

it's about winning big

Which sounds like Lane.

Taking the LSU or Fla job could be his last, and not the good way. Ole Miss has a much higher tolerance for losing.

Lane is on record, TV! Radio "I don't make decisions over money"

He's 50, not 64 like Kelly

come on Roger, Lane isn't moving for a pay day, OM already has offered him like 13 to stay. He has a payday...he's been paid north of 7 million the last 6 years!!!

HOw much money does one need?

I bet Lane is worth at least 50 million, maybe a lot more...maybe Layla has half of it

he doesn't need money from here on out

Then he doesnt need to move. He can do the same thing at Ole Miss as he can do at UF or LSU.

Sounds like a pussy mentality then. I don’t think Lane is a pussy.

What if he views himself as Kirby Smart at a place like LSU?

We’ve seen what LSU can be when they have great QB play. Lane can provide that consistently.

Not really. Lane can get everything at OM that he can get here. He's still in the SEC, still making big bucks, still has enough money to attract transfers.

That is such a weak way to look at yourself as an elite coach.

Wouldn’t you rather try to be the best if you are as confident as Kiffin is?

How long was Les Miles at LSU again? Y’all acting like a coach can’t stick around long. Imagine an actual elite coach who can provide great QB play at LSU.

NIL and transfers changed everything. Schools have no patience anymore.

Too much money involved.

If any coach declines coming to LSU because of fear of losing, we do not want him near the program.

Champions aren't scared of failure. They only think of winning.

Your entire post on this is how you think about things.

The greats think the exact opposite. They want to be the best and want to be in a location that they feel will allow them to do that.

Lane may decide OM provides him that, but he isn't making any decisions around, "what if I lose 4-5 games? They will fire me."

Absolute nonsense.

The Fans will destroy whoever is hired in record time, regardless of who is hired.

The LSU fanbase has a reputation and its not incorrect.

The hatred of all coaches on this board is pathetic.

And winning coaches know this and want to be in that fire.

You think Jay Johnson came to LSU thinking, "I am so afraid if I don't win quickly they will fire me."

Loser mentality you have.

Whoever comes here will come knowing they must perform and they will come thankful that they have the chance to reach legendary status by winning a national championship.

Winning coaches can win at Ole mIss with far less headache, and just as much money.
