Kirby was also supposedly signed and sealed for the Georgia defensive coordinator job a couple of years ago and then balked at the last second. Perhaps it's a pattern that he uses to get more money from Alabama.

Georgia fans wanted to believe he was "signed and sealed", but it couldn't have been farther from the truth. He talked with Mark Richt, but he chose to stay at Alabama. Being on that staff going into 2010 was questionable at best. I don't think I could blame him, even if it is his Alma mater. Regardless, he can get a head coaching position as easily as a DC at Alabama, as opposed to Georgia.

USM probably figured out that Smart is a Saban puppet and looked around to see that former Saban assistants aren't doing too well on their own either

I've seen the haircut comment posted here and there. What's the story behind that? Is he tight?
