Dean Pees was the DC for the Titans, not Coombs.

Any program would be lucky to have him, one of the very best assistants of the last 40 years

Coombs will acquire the title of defensive coordinator, not the co-coordinator title Hafley shared with Greg Mattison, who remains on Day's staff.

Not sure how it will all shake out, but some sources are saying that Coombs will be the DC, and others say they will be Co-DCs

Coombs will replace Jeff Hafley, who served as the Buckeyes' secondary coach and co-defensive coordinator in 2019 and left the program to take the head coaching job at Boston College after the season. Greg Mattison is still on staff as the remaining co-defensive coordinator for the Buckeyes.

As I said, there are conflicting reports. There is some buzz that having co-DCs hampered defensive adjustments in the Clemson game.
