he made $3.8 million to finish 3rd in the SEC West

Well but LSU still finished 10th in the BCS! There are 4 teams from the SECW that are in the top 22. That is amazing! (difficult) We finished ahead of Bama who had a 5th year senior QB and returning Heisman from a MNC team. Cam is great and so is Mallett...

if people recall, we were outside many top 25 preseason polls.

Miles just needs a QB, when this happens, he will be legendary amongst the LSU faithful. I truly believe that...good times ahead IMHO

Miles is a great recruiter..runs a clean program,, likable, quotable, great for college football..loves LSU

I hope we win the Cotton...that will make it 5-1 in bowls! that is outstanding..

No not really he finished 10-2 and if you go back look at the expectation(prediction threads). He performed above 85% of the LSU FANS expectations. That is no joke. He did his job better than most thought it would be done this year.

i want him to go away forever asap, no matter how that occurs. To pretend like the posi-tigers didn't twist this to act like I was arguing about firing him and not making $4 mill to finish 3rd in the west is typical of the jaydoo style.

So, who do we hire after firing a national championship coach for going 10-2, finishing the regular season ranked #10, and beating the previous two national champions coached by Urban Meyer and Nick Saban (the two BEST coaches in CFB) in one season?

The beefy contract Les has would pale in comparison to what we would have to offer to pull a coach that will keep us in the upper class of the SEC. We'll get stuck with Nutt if you have your way.

in personalities? Not even close.

Overall college head coaching records?

89-38 .700

133-51 .711

Looks pretty similar to me. I understand that personality matters to you, but overall results is what matter to people that sign the checks.

Miles is now 2-2 against Saban with a few plays away from a possible 4-0.

and even fewer from being 0-4

my post was about alabama's qb's. mcelroy getting slammed and concussed seemed to take the rest of their mojo, but someone else was saying they have nothing at qb and that's what I addressed.

Yes, I've read it too. My point was the contract can't extend past 2014. PERIOD. That's in the contract. It's not a roll-over option for eternity. It was the one non-idiotic part of the contract to be honest.

My point is that BelowPar is claiming they are going to work on an extension/new contract to fix the issues. Do you think Les is going to take a paycut from his guaranteed money for this? Really? Assuming he doesn't get rolled over this year and didn't last year that puts him at $11.75 Million guaranteed. Is that number going to change? No. Thus, what benefit would LSU get out of it?

You are correct.

A new contract could clear up issues and give both sides additional benefits/options, ie, not allowing a clown to unilaterally give extensions.

this is in reply to saying that 4th in the west is not worth $4 mill or more? Odd response.

Max knows what he wants has no logic to it and what you're saying is the truth. He just can't connect the dots for some reason. The fact is there would be some major head scratching if this happened.

Fwiw while at LSU Les Miles is .500 vs both Nick Saban and Urban Meyer.

The two best coaches in the nation.. and neither of them can beat Miles more than he beats them.

Nope, just saying that during our 2 worst years we still could and arguably should have beaten Bama.

You ignored what was previously said:

Would you be complaining that Saban's contract is obsurd this was at LSU?

Max has done nothing but flame and pollute the board for a few months, if Chicken wouldn't do it then, he will not do it now.

He has been so far over the top, but oh well.

yes, they've coached in the exact same situations over their careers. The LSU Saban inherited was the same as the one Miles got from him.
