Might end in a 0-0 tie then.

Jamey Chadwell makes a lot of sense for this job.

That 2015 crop of new head coaches was such a failure.

With the changes to NIL and the transfer portal, rural places like Blacksburg is going to need a coach that can recruit effectively in this new environment. VT has great fans and a nice stadium but the location is a bit remote.

A strong VT program is good for college football but I'm not sure how many top recruits they can get. I would think mastering the transfer portal would be more helpful at a place like VT to fill holes.

Tom Herman would be a good hire.

I honestly thought he'd do well there but what a total bust.

Hey, that's exactly what happened with Dabo.

Be careful what you wish for.

Yeah, as far as the former Memphis coaches go i think Fuente and Norvell got their next jobs mixed up. Fuente built Memphis and Norvell fine tuned it. Va Tech needed a fine tuning while FSU needed a rebuild. Just kinda weird/interesting how that all unfolded.

2017 is worse based on expectations.

You know where Chadwell makes a ton of sense?

It's the same place that currently has Clover Valley Beamer.

I hate Ray Tanner.

There are tons of “remote” locations in college football
I never understand this one at all. Kids don’t go to schools because of a “big city” if they don’t go pro they’ll work in one. They’ll go to college towns, like Clemson or Alabama or Ole Miss etc
(Or VT- Fuente just sucked)

Let me put it this way, I don't think the location of Blacksburg helps to make VT a top destination program. But I don't necessarily disagree with you as well. There are some so-called choice spots where the program for whatever reason can't take it to the next level. U 0f Texas has a great party city in Austin with more money than they know what to do with but just got beat by Kansas who lives of Juco's and transfers.
