Is it so hard to ask any OC to run similar schemes implored by Brady? I love the receivers pretending to block and then score in the end zone or rub a defender. LSU players became a master at it.

We had a guy who was literally next to Brady for a whole year and could barely run it without him

Surely there’s an OC out there who can. SEC coaches could never stop it, even after seeing it several times. That’s the crazy part. Trying to teach players to defend against it is hard.

Brady did not invent a new offense. He just brought a more modern scheme to the freak athletes at LSU and had a generational QB running it all. There are plenty of coaches that can run the same offense and be very successful at LSU.

Probably why he was grabbed up by NFL after a year...it’s more than scheme, it’s a feel. Knowing a defensive coordinators tendencies in situations and having a game plan to exploit it.

You mean E? The guy who coached LSU to fourth in the SEC in passing offense, with a horrible offensive line, true freshman QB’s starting 7/10 games, and getting almost no production out of the run gam?

Only Florida, Alabama (Heisman trophy finalist QBs) and Ole Miss finished higher

LSU finished fifth in total offense.

I honestly wonder how many people on these boards actually watch LSU play.

So if it was so good, then why was he practically given the boot on his own terms?

The OP clearly stated that we needed someone to run the Brady system, and who better to do so than Ensminger...who, I agree was serviceable in his own right, was given the boot and we are looking to go a different direction.

Wasn't Bradys Offense.. I'd say it was Sean Payton’s

But Brady put his own mark on the LSU offense. Had a great sense of when to run it near the goal line. Teams keyed on LSU’s willingness to run near the goal. Brady preyed on that.

Ok, am I crazy that I think the "It was Sean Payton's Offense" thing is dead wrong? I watch both teams every week and don't see it at all. It's not the same offense, the run game is entirely different and there are major differences in the passing game too. People act like Brady never coached anywhere else when he was also a grad assistant under Joe Moorhead at Penn St.

Brady learned the run game from Coach E and they meshed it with the passing attack. You can see the Saints running game get better the last 3 seasons.

Funny how LSU and Saints coaches spend more time together in the off season and the weaknesses in each teams offense drastically improves.

Step back and look at just that, then recognize all of the players

Part of that was because Joe Burrow could
Operate it at an insanely High level and he was throwing to possible 4 first rounders.

It was a great scheme and Joe could run it like a fricking wondering.

But not every QB is Joe Burrow and you need to adapt your scheme to your players. Say you don’t have 3 first round levels WRs. The. You need to call more diagned plays right TE the ball to your #1.

Say you don’t have a NFL IQ QBs or a fifth year senior: then you need to do more to make his decision making easier.

Run game was different, Brady preyed on SEC defenses who were playing to stop the run near the goal in the red zone. Ran it against Ala and Ga saw that, and Clemson saw that and still could not defend against it . Was a beautiful thing to see.

I think Joe Brady was very good but Burrow, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, and CEH made him look like a genius.
