That's written by AL.com to highlight the Alabama connection, since he coached at Samford and his dad is the former head coach at UAB.
That's a pure hometown/local boy piece that has nothing to do with Ponamsky, other than he was quoted.
I wouldn't know Ponamsky existed if it wasn't for this board. People are obsessed with him.
