No. Gruden has very little college coaching experience and hasn't been a coach in NCAA since 1992 or something like that. That doesn't exactly instill confidence that he would be some transcendent hire. He's not the messiah of coaching as he's made out to be anyway.

Unfortunately, yes it is. I personally despise the way things are now, but it is what it is. People are completely ruined and disbarred from ever doing anything again over dumb shite they said in some cases over 20 years ago. It's fricking stupid. The same people deciding to fire them or make these knee jerk reactions probably said plenty of stupid shite in their lifetime, but they just haven't been called out for it yet. The best thing any public figure could do at this point is just stay the frick off of social media and don't send anything in any format that can be saved . Honestly though, people are fired on hearsay at this point, so I don't guess it really matters.
