Joe Namath Graduates...

...this weekend from Alabama. We are doing everything we can do to make sure our players graduate. It just takes a little longer for some. I sure wish he had a year of eligibility left.

I'm reading Mark Kriegel's biography, Namath, right now.
Namath did some hard living after he got to the NFL and took more than his share of hard hits. If he didn't do it to himself, his defensive opponents were going to try like hell.
That $400,000 salary was just a big target on his back.

he was something else, that is for sure. he definitely did it his way.
I am pretty good friends with a guy who is pretty high up at BAMA and he said Namath is making his attorney go to class and take notes for him. got to love that. Lawyers are such whores. What a pussy.

To be fair to Broadway Joe, he WAS under full-time employment for most of the past 5 years.
He didn't get canned by ESPN until earlier this year.
That makes a difference when you compare him to Shaq, who was taking courses during the NBA off-season to get his degrees from LSU and University Of Phoenix.
